The image also references former President Donald Trump and voter fraud allegations.<br><br>What We Found<br><br>California recently enacted election-security legislation that includes criminal penalties of up to three years in prison for certain election-related offenses, including unlawful interference with ballots and election materials. However, the viral image does not provide evidence that Newsom personally made the exact statement attributed to him in the graphic. <br><br>What the Law Actually Does<br><br>The law was signed after controversy surrounding the seizure of ballots in California.
